New Teleloaders Built Bobcat Tough
Published: September 23rd, 2013
Imagine combining the speed, agility and strength of a skid-steer loader with the extended reach of a forklift. That’s exactly what you get with the new TL470 and TL360 Bobcat Telescopic Loaders The 7 metre lift height TL470 and the 6 metre lift height TL360 are part of the latest generation of Bobcat telehandlers designed to manage your toughest jobs effortlessly and efficiently.
These new machines are ideal for those jobs that not only demand the accessibility and maneuverability that Bobcat compact equipment is known for, but also require more lift height, a longer reach and the ability to lift heavier loads. This makes them perfect for meeting the demands in both the construction and agricultural sectors. The good news for owners of the new Bobcat telehandlers is that tests have proven conclusively that the TL470 and TL360 provide 15% more productivity and 20% better fuel economy when compared with equivalent truck loading equipment.
To reach their optimum the TL360 and TL470 models are driven by a Perkins engine to develop 74.5 kW (100HP) of power. The TL470HF (High Flow) model develops 97 kW (130HP) for better trailing performance combined to a market-leading 190 l/min load sensing pump that improves overall cycle times by nearly 30%. In addition all models are driven by a hydrostatic transmission of up to 40km/h. An optional boom suspension reduces spillage and operator fatigue on uneven terrain and the forward/reverse control on the joystick ensure the operator can easily control travel direction, steering and boom movements simultaneously.
Overall strength is optimised to produce a strong and agile loader. The fully integrated boom head offers a complete solution for demanding loading and other high stress applications. Coupled with a tool carrier that is specifically designed to reduce stress around the pick-up points, the boom structure on the Bobcat TL470 and TL360 is designed for a long life. To further increase reliability, the total number of hydraulic connections has been reduced by 40% to reduce potential leak points.
Superior visibility and comfort is a big feature of both the Bobcat TL470 and TL360. A patented asymmetric cab structure leaves the right rear corner free from blocking structures to improve visibility in conjunction with a lower boom pivot point. The cab width has been increased to offer a more comfortable work environment and an optional all-glass door allows for easy manoeuvring in confined areas.
The new TL470 and TL360 Telehandlers are designed to ensure that service work can be done quickly and easily. Both TL models have a side-mounted engine to ensure access to the main engines routine maintenance points. In addition, access holes are strategically placed on the mainframe to accommodate easy and fast upkeep.
