Manitou Rough Terrain Telehandlers Impress
Published: September 23rd, 2013
With a commitment to farming and with the embodiment of modern design technology the Manitou range of rough terrain telescopic handlers just keeps on getting better. Manitou has just released two new models, the MLT 627 and MLT-X735 to join the already popular MLT 840-137. This completes a line up that is not only impressive but will provide greater comfort and be more productive at the same time.
Distributed nationwide by Manitou Agriculture, a business unit of AB Equipment, the Manitou Rough Terrain telescopic handlers are machines that are ideally suited to New Zealand farm conditions. You can’t help but be impressed with the performance features of all these models. The dimensions and wheelbase means that loads from 2,700 to 4000 tonnes can be handled in complete safety whilst the boom lets you carry loads not normally associated with this class of vehicle. They say that performance equals agility and this Manitou range has it all, with a turning radius that sets new standards in agricultural telehandler execution. Both machines are fitted with hi-performance agricultural tyres. The excellent traction and grip allows the machines to operate on all types of terrain no matter what the conditions.
In the case of the MLT 627 and MLT X735 power and performance comes courtesy of a Perkins 4 cylinder turbo power engine, which is ideally suited for maximum engine efficiency. The Manitou MLT 840-137 is equipped with a 137HP John Deere 4.5 litre engine and a 180 litre per minute variable flow hydraulic pump. All models are also perfectly adapted with a power/weight ratio that gives exceptional performance and fuel consumption.
“Being as performance driven as they are, these Manitou rough terrain models enable the operator to carry out a wide range of farming operations including bale handling, animal feeding and bulk loading and unloading,” says Manitou Agriculture NZ Sales and Marketing Manager, Rob Fuller. “This makes the machine perfect for dairy and livestock farms, nurseries, poultry and any other operation where space is severely restricted,” he said.
Manitou rough terrain telescopic handlers look good both internally and externally and are designed for maximum operator comfort. The driving area has been ergonomically designed to increase productivity and comes with a cloth seat, adjustable steering column and air conditioning. And because silence is a factor in the well being of the operator, low noise levels are achieved through full soundproofing of the cab (only 76db). Exclusive to Manitou, JSM (Joystick Switch and Move) allows the operator to control all movements with one hand in total safety without causing fatigue.
Flexibility is the key with each of the Manitou Rough Terrain Telehandlers with a wide range of attachments and enhancement packages available to meet individual requirements.
