Kalmar DCG120-6 For Winstone Timber
Published: November 13th, 2015
When Winstone Timber based at Tangiwai on the southern side of MT Ruapehu increased their production they had to up rate their 7 ton forklift to a 12 ton forklift to keep up with the increased volume.
Having a close relationship with AB Equipment and knowing the site well, MH Sales Engineer Allan Gudsell from AB Equipment Palmerston North worked closely with Paul Howell to review the operational requirements, specifications and performance of the Kalmar DCG120-6.
Upgrading the existing 7 tonner to a Kalmar was an easy choice to make with Winstone Timber already having one older model Kalmar DCE120-6 and a DCE90L-6 working hard onsite, this along with the high level of service provided by AB Equipment’s technician Graeme McFadden based in Ohakune.
All of the operators are very impressed with increased volume of timber the machine moves as well as the additional enhancements to all around visibility with a front curved screen with front and top wiper on the roof screen, operator comfort (seating, heating and A/C) and safety made by Kalmar with the new EGO cabin.
